KEYNOTE SPEAKING
The rules we live by are often the ones nobody remembers agreeing to.
Leah Van King is a writer, social commentator, and speaker exploring gender, relationships, identity, self-trust, cultural conditioning, and the invisible expectations shaping how we show up in our lives.
Through sharp cultural observation, personal storytelling, and a healthy suspicion of rules that begin with “women should…”, Leah gives audiences new language for patterns they may have lived with for years without knowing how to name.
Available for keynotes, panels, workshops, podcasts, and live conversations.
Different conversations for a different kind of future.
WHAT LEAH SPEAKS ABOUT
What if the problem isn't that you need more confidence?
What if you've simply spent years learning when it is safer not to use it?
Leah's work examines the cultural rules hiding underneath everyday behavior: why women learn to make themselves smaller, why we confuse accommodation with love, why self-trust becomes so difficult inside relationships, and what happens when we begin questioning the roles we've inherited.
Her talks sit at the intersection of culture, gender, relationships, identity, confidence, and human behavior, turning ideas that can feel enormous or abstract into recognizable moments from ordinary life.
The text you rewrote four times.
The opinion you softened before anyone disagreed.
The room you learned to read before you learned to read yourself.
The life you can build when you stop automatically doing that.
Leah's goal isn't to tell audiences what to think. It's to give them something interesting enough to keep thinking about after they leave.
CONVERSATIONS WORTH HAVING
Topics Leah brings to the stage.
STOP SHRINKING
The invisible rules that teach women to make themselves smaller.
An exploration of how women learn to edit their needs, opinions, ambition, emotions, and identities in exchange for belonging, approval, and connection, and what becomes possible when those rules are finally made visible.
SELF-TRUST
Why knowing yourself isn't always enough to stop overriding yourself
Why intelligent, self-aware people can understand their patterns perfectly and still abandon what they know in the moments that matter, and how we begin rebuilding trust in our own perception.
RELATIONSHIPS + GENDER
What happens when the roles we've inherited stop working.
A candid examination of gender expectations, emotional labor, loneliness, communication, intimacy, and the cultural scripts men and women bring into modern relationships.
IDENTITY + CULTURAL CONDITIONING
Who were you before you learned who you were supposed to be?
A conversation about identity, belonging, social expectations, and the strange experience of discovering that some of the beliefs guiding your life were handed to you long before you were old enough to question them.

THE WORK BEHIND THE WORK
Years of paying attention to why people do what they do.
I’ve spent years independently studying human behavior, relationships, gender roles, psychology, and culture, driven by questions I couldn’t stop asking: Why do we behave the way we do? And how much of what we call “normal” have we simply inherited without questioning it?
I’ve explored those questions through hundreds of videos, essays, scripts, workshops, and conversations. I also spent years working with personal-development teacher Kute Blackson, which gave me extensive exposure to the personal-development world. I grew up surrounded by professional artists and later spent years onstage myself as the frontwoman of Mystical Joyride.
Stop Shrinking brings all of those threads together: independent study, cultural observation, lived experience, storytelling, and years spent questioning the things we’ve learned to call normal.
